Hi,
I'd like to be able to disable the second files pane in the ForkLift browser window. Just so it mimics the Finder even more, if I want it to.

Amen. Perhaps a toolbar icon and a Preference Checkbox

Or if you don't want to do a Preference (if you don't expect much use of this option) you could just throw it in the plist and let us happily defaults write
We have been arguing about single-pane mode since the very beginning of ForkLift and I think you will have it finally, but definitely after 2.0.

Haha- glad you can humor us. Looking forward to Forklift 2!

I really cannot think of a reason to have 1 pane :P !
But yet again - let the user decide on his own way how to use forklift and implement the pane-set and tab features of the screenshots in the post below.
ANY amount of panes - each with ANY amout of tabs.
This will solve ANY users request about panes and tabs.

That's easy- I mostly edit files on the server. I don't need the second pane, it's a waste of space.
Also I often open a finder window to work on a project. Why duplicate the interface when I open my FTP app. Besides, there's no column view yet.

I'd also like to see a way to get rid of the favorites/devices section in the left hand side of the window
