Hi,

Pressing down the ALT modifier should bypass the Trash in the same way both in 1.2 and 1.5.1.
Perhaps you have assigned the key to a different action in your 1.2 installation?

where do I assign Alt + F8? I only find F8 under delete.
currently when I press Alt + F8 it gives only a bump like the key doesn't exist

You need not assign the ALT anywhere, but you need to use the Delete icon in the toolbar, while pressing down ALT to bypass the trash.
You can't do this with the keyboard alone.
