Hello,
I found on the ForkLift Web site that some kind of smart folders and so called spring folders is supported by the program, but I cannot find what does it mean, how to use those features and create/use smart folders inside the ForkLift program? BTW, documentation is so poor, it need help right?

Hi KM
Smart folders is basically an OS X feature, you can read on them in Apple's documentation. ForkLift is capable of handling these folders, as Finder does. ForkLift is not capable of creating Smart folders, just reading them.
Spring loaded folders means that when you drag a file over a folder, and keep hovering over it, the folder will open so that you can navigate inside it.
Hope this clears things up, and welcome to ForkLift

hi,
thanks a lot for explanation ;-) Now its clear for me, but any chance to see the content of the smart folder on the fly, without going inside it?
BTW, any plans to add the possibility to create smart folders from inside the program, would be great!

Smart Folders are a complex thing, I would say let the creation stay in the Finder and the ForkLift guys do some more interesting stuff.
One thing I don't like about the Smart Folder handling in ForkLift is that the 'savedSearch' extension is shown in the sidebar:

Yeah, you are right probably. Well I would like to say that ForkLift is awesome anyway. Please add the MobileMe synchronization for favorites and keep the application small as possible. 8.3MB versus 30-35MB with XFolder or PathFinder, you rocks.
Things to do so:
1. MobileMe support for favorites,
2. SMB/CIFS volume support,
3. Navigation to favorite tab without the mouse (or maybe there is a way to do, how??)
4. Mail to... shortcut to be able to send the file right from the application
And please keep this app light as possible. Now I gonna pay for my registration to support you!
Best regards,
Krzysztof Maj
